San Diego health officials reported 1,031 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Friday, September 10, placing the total to 343,173 cases.
The area has also reported 12 new deaths, for a total of 3,941; and 174 hospitalizations, for a total of 17,253.
Positivity rate Is at 5.2%, of the total 26,271 tests conducted that day.
The county has been ramping up its vaccination with 2.42 million—or 86.5% of residents—having able to receive at least one dose. Fully vaccinated individuals account for 76.1% of the population, or 2.13 million people.
COVID positivity rate is at 61.9 per 100,000 for unvaccinated people, whilst 17.7 per 100,000 for vaccinated residents. Overall case positivity rate is at 37.1 per 100,000 people.
The coronavirus vaccine is widely available in the area. Residents may go to their medical providers, pharmacies, or community centers for a shot of the vaccine.
