San Antonio’s public transportation system has launched a new mobile ticketing system

Via Metropolitan Transit in San Antonio has modified its fare payment mobile app in collaboration with Masabi and the Transit app. Customers will be able to purchase mobile fares at any time and from any location using either the new goMobile+ app or the Transit app, which integrates real-time travel planning and payment in a single app that thousands of Via riders use every month.

The goMobile+ app has a more user-friendly interface in both English and Spanish, as well as enhanced security features. Riders can buy mobile tickets or add funds to their account to use in the goMobile+ or Transit applications at any Via transit center, using cash or credit card.

Via announced that the app will feature extended payment options later this year, allowing users to put money into the app with cash at hundreds of local merchants.

Via clients may get an all-in-one experience with the Transit app, which includes mobile ticketing, journey planning, real-time tracking, and connections to first-mile/last-mile services. Masabi’s Justride platform powers Via’s mobile ticketing capability.

Via asserts that by making mobile ticketing available in two apps, riders will have more options and flexibility when paying for rides on any of its services, including buses, special event service, Via Link, and Viatrans (paratransit service).

The upgraded goMobile+ software replaces the previous goMobile app and is designed to make ticket purchasing easier, safer, and more convenient. On Apple and Android smartphones, the goMobile+ app is available for free download.
