Police Said A Man Was Wounded While Attempting To Halt An Alleged Theft

A woman has been detained in connection with attempted theft and gunshot in Alamo Heights that resulted in the hospitalization of one guy.

Kelly Brooke Catalani Rix, 37, was charged with aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon following the altercation on Monday in the 100 block of Grove Place, near Broadway, according to Bexar County Jail booking records.

According to Alamo  Heights police, the male gunshot victim and Rix are acquainted, and he called Rix when he discovered his keys were gone from his front porch that morning. According to the affidavit, she informed him he owed her $300.

According to investigations, the guy told police he observed the lady inside his truck and thought she was trying to take the car or his equipment.

When Rix spotted him, she walked to a neighboring silver Chevrolet pickup with two guys inside and sat in the passenger seat, according to authorities. The victim then got into the truck’s bed.

According to the affidavit, the victim informed authorities that a guy, who has not been recognized, leaned outside the rear driver’s side window before opening fire.

A gunshot hit the victim in the right knee, causing him to fall out of the truck bed and dislocate his right shoulder. He was transported to University Hospital for treatment.

Officers learned that the victim did not know the two individuals inside the truck, including the one who shot him. On the street, police discovered a shell casing and a bullet fragment.

Rix was detained on Wednesday morning, according to records. She is also charged with illegal possession and usage of a car. Her bail was set at 65,000 dollars.
