Children With Severe COVID Symptoms Are Being Admitted To Hospitals In San Antonio.

Doctors are observing an increase in the number of children brought to San Antonio hospitals with COVID-19, and those children are displaying increasingly severe symptoms.

Several clinicians believe the majority of those pediatric admissions are due to the delta variety, which is more contagious and more transmissible than prior coronavirus mutations.

Dr. Ted Wu, director of University Hospital’s pediatric intensive care unit said that “We’re literally holding our breath because school opens up today and next week as well … That’s kind of what the big concerns in the next few weeks are for all of us.

Doctors say the trend is impacting children of all ages, from babies to toddlers to teenagers.
